Mother's Tea 2016

Another year, another Mother's Tea at my nephew's Noah's school.
This year, only two sisters could attend, and my mom. I ate their share of goodies.
The gym was all decked out, as usual. They really do put on a great event. And I got to chat with my old friend Daryl, who is one of the assistant principal's at the school.
And of course, I ate a lot of cupcakes and drank a lot of coffee, and also bid on a few silent auction items.
And then we watched the grade 5 boys sing a couple of songs. I made Noah and his buddy laugh by making funny faces at them in the audience. Count on me to be professional!

Dean's Christmas Lunch 2016

Yesterday was our annual Christmas Lunch, that I've been collecting donations for.
I got a total of 26 prizes this year, from many generous businesses and restaurants.
We did our annual trivia game, as well as a jeopardy game. It was a lot of fun!
We also raised about $450 for the United Way - look at these helpful volunteers, aren't they great?
It's such a fun time, I'm glad I can help out each year.

Pacific Baskets

I have been collecting prizes for this year's Dean's Christmas Lunch and found myself in Coquitlam at Pacific Baskets.
They donated a prize basket to our event! There they are in their workshop, busy little elves working away.
Here is the prize basket, it was very generous of them!

Spelling Bee - secret friend

Spelling Bee is up and running. Being in a show means having a secret friend. Mine is killing it, and gives me small presents EVERY NIGHT!
Look at this little Stitch dressed up as Elvis!
And I mentioned that I needed to make a Pokemon Charmander for a friend, and I got yarn the next day!
I also said that I play flute and love Lord of the Rings. Look at this! There's a CD that you can play along to. I love my SF!

UBC Farm

I am gathering prizes for the big Dean's staff Christmas lunch and went to the UBC farm this morning.
What an amazing view!
It must be so gorgeous in the summer, I will have to come back and check it out!

Contest - Win Socks for Life!

I have blogged before about the fine people over at Patons, and did a review of their sock yarn. I also made a shawl with their yarn but am ashamed to say it still needs to be blocked. I'll get to it someday!

In the meantime, I wanted to let you know about a contest they're having - you can win socks for life!! They're giving away a lifetime supply of socks, a prize equivalent to $1000 worth of yarn! To enter, just tel them how you will be impacted by winning. Full details here.

And look, YARN! YARN! YARN!
